Fuel Cells

Based on the carbon fiber composite manufacturing technology, the LNnewpower research team has developed a new generation of gas diffusion layer products by drawing on advanced hydrogen energy experience and combining the thermodynamic and kinetic characteristics of fuel cell electrochemical reaction.

The products adopt high-strength and high-modulus carbon fiber as the porous substrate, the substrate is further reinforced using high-temperature carbonized resin to prepare samples with even thickness uniformity, superior electrical and thermal conductivity, strong mechanical support performance, high gas permeability, and low surface roughness. The products are suitable for scenarios such as stationary energy storage power stations, energy supply equipment in emergencies, and fuel cell power stacks for high-power and heavy-duty vehicles.

Water Electrolyzers

LNnewpower research team has further designed and improved the carbon paper so that it can be applied as the cathode porous transport layer (PTL) for proton exchange membrane water electrolyzer (PEMWE) and anion exchange membrane water electrolyzer (AEMWE).

In view of the working conditions of water electrolyzer, which are different from those of fuel cells, the carbon paper for water electrolyzer has been optimized in terms of thickness, porosity, electrical and thermal conductivity, mechanical support strength, hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity, effective exportation of gaseous resultant, and resistance to alkaline corrosion, etc.. The carbon paper products of this type are more in line with the performance requirement for cathode porous transport layer in the water electrolyzer.

Flow Batteries

LNnewpower research team has developed a series of carbon paper products for flow battery electrodes according to the working condition of flow battery electrodes.

This series of products have the advantages of high porosity, superior permeability, large specific surface area and electrochemical surface area, balanced flexibility and mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, and high lifespan.

The products can be used as electrodes for liquid flow batteries such as all-vanadium redox flow batteries, zinc-based flow batteries or iron-chromium redox flow batteries.
